
The Program for the Sustainable Management of Natural Resources in the South West Region (PSMNR-SWR) is a development Program of the Republic of Cameroon, Co-financed by the Federal Republic of Germany through KFW. The PSMNR-SWR is implemented in Protected Areas by MINFOF in collaboration with WWF and the local communities to protect the integrity of the Protected Areas. In the process of conserving biodiversity, enhancing the livelihood capabilities of the communities that live in and around the Banyang-Mbo Wildlife Sanctuary is of utmost importance as livelihood activities are implemented to reduce poaching, illegal wood exploitation, unsustainable harvesting of NTFPs and encroachment into the Sanctuary
The Banyang-Mbo Wildlife Sanctuary in the 2024 rehabilitated the water system in the Ebamut and Muangwekan villages. during the rehabilitation phase some six community members were selected as part of the management committees members.The aim of the formation of these committees was to address specific issues for the sustainability of the water projects.
To redress some of these issues, members where trained on some thematic, including financial management,conflicts resolutions.maintenance of catchment site and pipe.At the end of the training, members returned home with a complete set of maintenance took that will aid them in the few.
This activity was financed by funds from the Programme of the Sustaianable Management of Natural Resources in the South Region through the Banyang-Mbo Wildlife Sanctuary.
